What players think
The recurring themes across 300 analysed reviews: what players praise, what divides them, and what to know.
It's a far superior experience, and in a Run 'n Gun, gameplay experience is what matters.
In spite of its famously hard difficulty, this game never felt unfair to me, which is more than I can say for a lot of classics from this era.
Hard Corps (outside of the first 2 Contras), was pretty fun to play with an interesting plot.
The pixel graphics are very good with plenty of great things to look at and it's pretty detailed for the era these games were released.
Being able to switch weapons while battling giant bosses are satisfying and worthy challenges.
