The exploration is fun, although it's hindered a little by the backtracking.
There's more of a story present than in a lot of other genre contenders, and its presented well.
Especially the final boss fight felt anticlimactic (in challenge, certainly not in presentation - all the visuals for each fight were brilliant!).
I first played Astalon during the February Steam Game Festival and was impressed with the retro art style and the different playable characters.
The soundtrack is great but not the best just ok (I give it a 6.5/10).
It's a great steam deck game you can play on the couch or on the road trip.
