Complex combat mechanics (for a JRPG), enjoyable humor, nice art, great music, and a real drag.
It’s a short, turn-based adventure that both celebrates and pokes fun at the conventions of classic Japanese role-playing games, all wrapped in a self-aware narrative dripping with humor and charm.
It was funny, combat was fun and showed promise, music was great, the writing and scenes kept me interested.
This type of battle system is one of the most enjoyable I have ever encountered in an RPG and I would highly recommend playing on raving (hard) difficulty to truly experience the way it was intended.
The soundtrack is another standout feature, blending chiptune melodies with holiday-inspired motifs.
This game manages to provide the shallowest dungeons I can recall from a JRPG - despite of the neat audio and visuals.
