What players think
The recurring themes across 247 analysed reviews: what players praise, what divides them, and what to know.
The narrative is fun and the comedy always hits home, (to the point I was actually laughing aloud at the 'Cat girl' and parts with the bees).
As a method of learning, it's exceptional and my progression in Japanese has improved more in days than it did in MONTHS of trying to learn from textbooks and online lessons.
The graphics are a little bit rudimentary (which is to be expected as this isn't a AAA developer working with a team of people) but the mechanics, writing and (in particular) voice acting compete with most other games I've played.
The story is also fun and often funny, and the 'combat' is a fun flash-card style exercise for remembering the words and phrases.
