What players think
The recurring themes across 300 analysed reviews: what players praise, what divides them, and what to know.
The game certainly look the part and many mechanics play into elements of the movies and setting.
(Which is also a great narrative ramp up in difficulty as you get better squads and weapons).
The combat was very reminiscent of the Dawn Of War (1 and 2 - 3 isn't out yet as of writing this) squad movement, cover, special abilities, and overall combat.
The atmosphere and graphics are true to the retro sci-fi of the original movies (not the modern version like in Alien Covenant or Alien Prometheus).
It absolutely nails the tension, dread, sound design, and constant feeling that something is about to go horribly wrong.
The game is on track - the atmosphere is correctly presented - huge future upward potential - create a world around it - the character/unit building makes you feel attached to every single one of them > loosing one reminds you of the series Games of Thrones - where main actors with fully built story-line and character build up are killed > and you feel the loss.
