Obsidian's approach to storytelling, the hand-painted art style inspired by medieval manuscripts, and the depth of the characters come together into an experience that's rarely matched in video games.
Because of the lack of time to do everything, and the many important (and INCREDIBLY impactful) choices you need to make, plus many interesting background choices that allow you to build your own version of the protagonist and heavily influence each playthrough allows for some of the best replayability I've seen in a story game, especially a mystery story.
A beautiful art style, combined with one of my favorite sorts of settings, as well as interesting characters and an incredibly gripping story.
I can't explain it but the sound effects of quills writing on paper, footsteps, rain etc it's kind of asmr-ish even.
I did actually really enjoy switching to Magdalene as a playable character, and having a decision you made in Act II affect part of her character traits was very clever.
