What players think
The recurring themes across 300 analysed reviews: what players praise, what divides them, and what to know.
The core gameplay loop is good and I would say it is worth full price (which is decent anyhow).
The game embraces a playful science-fiction setting filled with quirky humor, unusual characters, and imaginative concepts that give the universe its own personality.
The hand-drawn art style complements the relaxed atmosphere exceptionally well.
The soundtrack further supports the experience by delivering calm background music that fits the game's steady pacing.
I am baffled at how they so elegantly nailed the difficulty curve of delving through ever-more challenging planets with ever-increasing rewards, threw a variety of quite cool upgrades, powerups and obstacles at me, and made it satisfying both to struggle through difficult monster-ridden worlds where I'm clinging to every powerup crate for dear life, and for cakewalk levels where I dig out every single block.
Galactic Mining Corp feels like something between one of those addictive web-browser games you'd find back in the day, and a modern mobile game without exploitative microtransactions.
