What players think
The recurring themes across 300 analysed reviews: what players praise, what divides them, and what to know.
The style also shows how the emphasis on writing and building some sort of story is significantly more important than emphasizing the visuals.
Fatum Betula is a small but strikingly memorable surreal exploration title developed and published by Bryce Bucher that feels less like a conventional game and more like an interactive philosophical vignette.
With very simplistic designs and graphics it manages to give a very notorious and colorful aesthetic, that can sometimes become eerie and jarring much like it would feel in a sort of dream, where you can understand what's around you and almost immediately lose all meaning.
Of course, the PSX era aesthetics and an amazing soundtrack both allow the story to take root and give form to its fleshy bark and low-polygon, bony branches.
