Rather than presenting itself as a traditional management simulator filled with spreadsheets and endless optimization, the game embraces the culture surrounding collectible card games and builds an experience around community, nostalgia, and the joy of discovering something rare.
The art style is amazing, the characters look great, the animations look great, the shop is highly customizable with different wallpapars, small items, big items, curtains and wall decorations, which are all available through the shop, finishing weekly shop tasks and collecting a full set of cards in your binder.
Combined with a pleasant soundtrack, Kardboard Kings delivers an atmosphere that feels welcoming from beginning to end.
Pros: lovely unique art, got me sucked into the game for many many hours, i played ~20 hrs in like 2-3 days lol, story is quirky and strange(but very short) and each character was really interesting. i love the mix of art styles, the design and theme around the card series, but i wish there were more cards!
