What players think
The recurring themes across 300 analysed reviews: what players praise, what divides them, and what to know.
I want to emphasize that I'm a filthy casual who can't comment on how well the mechanics are balanced (especially once you get to the post-game) but I've had a blast exploring all the different strategies which are possible, and I can't say I ever truly got bored of combat, even after grinding in the end game.
The main story and side stories explored so many unique themes and concepts that really showed how inspired the writing team was.
This game also has a kickass soundtrack with songs that match the tone of the game super-duper well.
The fusion system + advantage chart revamp mentioned above make the combat MUCH MORE DYNAMIC AND STRATEGIC.
I loved the art style and the 2.5D aspect of the game!
The difficulty settings are pretty granular, which is nice, but I didn't end up messing with them much, so I can't speak to the effectiveness of tuning them up and down.
