I'd say it's worth it for the interesting story that does unfold, but the mini-games they added into it make me question that.
The fun gameplay lightens the mood, however, and acting like a cat with both its physical limitations and natural abilities offers some enjoyable challenges and puzzles.
It has a cute pixel art style and has some lighthearted, silly, I'm-playing-a-cat moments that makes you smile even with the heavy themes the game deals with
No voice acting, apart from the odd mumble, scream, or gesture, but music is very atmospheric and manages to create a somber and sullen mood.
The strength of "Cats and the Other Lives" is the combination of its playful main character and a storyline that can be quite disturbing at times.
