What players think
The recurring themes across 300 analysed reviews: what players praise, what divides them, and what to know.
Combat: Deep, fluid, and satisfying 2D combat with light/heavy attacks, dodges, and blocks, offering great customization with various weapons and armor.
A very strong 2D Soulslike Metroidvania, that I praise for its beautiful hand-drawn art, deep combat, satisfying Mage Hunts, and engaging jolly co-op!
An important thing I will note is that there are a great number of different factions with different multiplayer goals so it is quite obvious the devs meant to have this game be played with heavy multiplayer involvement.
That said, when it works, co-op can drastically change the feel of the game, turning otherwise grueling Mage hunts into coordinated dances of timing and teamwork.
The story is reminiscent of normal "soulslike" storytelling, in mysterious subject matter with lots of vague terms and uncovering stuff as you go but I quite enjoyed it.
The Artstyle: This game is a massive improvement on the first game's graphics, with vastly better animations, and the overall art used in this game has been cleaned up.
