Having completed the main game, I'm very pleased to report that Wheel World is a wonderful game and I can wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone looking for a fun, laid-back open world game.
The soundtrack is great, the visuals are charming, the design is intuitive, the core gameplay loop is engaging and the price is fair.
I would say I fell in love with it, its cheesy but heartwarming story, and its little idiosyncrasies, like cars honking if you got too close to them or the strange outfits and styles of the racing teams you compete against.
The cel-shaded art style is gorgeous and gives the game a timeless, comic book look that’ll age well.
All and all, looks fun, plays ok, runs like ass on Steam Deck (OLED in my case).
My PC has no trouble running games like Space Marines 2 with next to no lag or performance issues.
