The gameplay loop is pretty straightforward: at the beginning of the week, you send your reporter out to get stories and bring them back in time to be published on Sunday.
There's clearly room to expand the world and the story, and I wonder how far the developers can take it before a massive in-universe technological shift is needed.
You'll eventually add illustrators, graphics, and ads, and you'll need people to manage those aspects of the game as well.
The period setting is a big strength — the Art Deco visuals and smooth jazz soundtrack give genuine old-New York newsroom vibes, and historical headlines from the Great Depression era add depth to the experience.
The balancing and optimization is highly counter-intuitive.
