What players think
The recurring themes across 300 analysed reviews: what players praise, what divides them, and what to know.
Each character has their own motivations and the events through different eyes make the story feel fresh each time.
The core gameplay premise is really clever, and not something I've seen before: you choose how the "maiden", "underling", and "overlord" characters act in advance, and then make decisions as the "hero", which then unlock new "hero" actions to set in advance while you play as the next character.
Also, the amazing art style, the characters, and the great soundtrack create an atmosphere that’s both cute and surprisingly emotional.
The soundtrack complements this aesthetic beautifully—light, atmospheric tunes give way to somber melodies as stories spiral toward their inevitable conclusions.
There's so many different ways that each character can react that can move time to divert differently.
