Garbage Pail Kids: Mad Mike and the Quest for Stale Gum is a retro-style side-scrolling platformer developed by Retrotainment Games and Digital Eclipse and published by iam8bit Presents that fully embraces the bizarre humor, gross-out style, and arcade-inspired gameplay associated with the classic Garbage Pail Kids franchise.
Graphics are very solid for an 8 Bit Nintendo title, there are some minor issues with the overall look as far as it can be difficult to see enemy projectiles sometimes, but it uses the limited NES color palette very well and has good parallax scrolling effects in use.
Adjustable difficulty settings, achievements, bonus content, and smoother gameplay responsiveness allow newer players to enjoy the adventure without feeling completely overwhelmed by outdated design conventions.
