What players think
The recurring themes across 300 analysed reviews: what players praise, what divides them, and what to know.
I mainly used close range weapons, especially two handed swords and I loved it.
I like being able to block most attacks and I also find the dodge mechanic awesome.
The souls-like aspects are good, and the game is definitely hard, which will lengthen your playtime a lot.
Either the dev team ran out of time, or they thought: "We have to downgrade the graphics for Quest 2 anyway, so why bother?" The first part of the game looks much better than most of the rest.
It's the deliberate, meaningful Souls-like experience I'd been craving in VR, backed by a solid story and surprisingly good voice acting.
Very few VR games can manage to come through with actual voice acting, objectives, and leveling systems ( the skill tree is HUGE although unfinished), and Grimlord does it very well.
