What players think
The recurring themes across 172 analysed reviews: what players praise, what divides them, and what to know.
A scene which has many complex layers in and of itself but I primarily focus on the devs whom care solely about crafting a fun experience using nostalgic inspiration from their favorite genres.
So far, seems like the combat is well-made, but that's because I haven't talked about the issues yet:
The environment textures are much better this time around, as were the character/monster models.
Responsive action, rewarding defensive mechanics, challenging bosses, numerous collectible items, character customization, and interconnected exploration create a consistently entertaining foundation.
The soundtrack is also "boppin" which is important as a decent collection of songs always gives us just enough of that "extra ompth" to keep slaying until day break.
Its side-scrolling design and controller-oriented action are nevertheless naturally suited to portable play, making the Steam Deck a practical way to experience the game.
