What players think
The recurring themes across 300 analysed reviews: what players praise, what divides them, and what to know.
The game is geared towards exploration and Synergy doesn’t just want you to hunker down; it sends you out into the wild with expeditions that double as story moments.
Synergy’s art style is so Moebius-inspired that I half-expected a pastel dune worm to eat my city.
The story element is also strong, with a decent narrative and plenty of goals to reach, one after another, to progress through the campaign.
The overall presentation is complemented by a calm, atmospheric soundtrack that enhances the relaxed pacing, making the experience feel more contemplative than intense.
The thing about Synergy is that it's one of the few games where I feel like the difficulty in figuring out how everything works doesn't leave me feeling disappointed in myself because I know I'm doing the best I can and I'm slowly picking up the tricks and knowledge to play smarter - all within the same play-through.
