The story isn’t anything groundbreaking, pretty standard, to be honest, but it still managed to make me feel a connection with both main characters.
And of course, the gameplay doesn't come in to save the day.
I highly reccomend playing it all through, the split screen in the last chapter is something you will have never experienced bevore.
It feels like the story was only added as an extra, while the focus was only on graphics and mechanics.
These flaws hold the game short of its potential, but ultimately it all clicks in the last third, where the difficulty finally gets where it should be, the levels combine all the gimmicks you've slowly been taught, and the story beats, even if predictable, land because they're timeless rather than timeworn, and supported by excellent art, music, and voice acting.
Sometimes you could feel, that it is optimized for controller, but I guess it just added to the challenge :)
