What players think
The recurring themes across 300 analysed reviews: what players praise, what divides them, and what to know.
I think some of the enemies have some really interesting mechanics (others are a little annoying at times).
The graphics in the dungeon are top down and later on get the cool dithered look too, and the death sounds of some monsters are pretty neat and retro.
Yet, it is precisely this uncompromising difficulty that makes every single breakthrough feel so incredibly rewarding.
Using hexes or serums in combat encounters adds a nice bit of mechanical depth.
Finding the next inventory upgrade, spell, and powerful weapon makes rerunning the dungeon feel like meaningful progress as you learn more and more of the game's systems.
The real draw is of course the love story of the main character, and purple hair that exists entirely in my mind.
