What players think
The recurring themes across 300 analysed reviews: what players praise, what divides them, and what to know.
I strongly appreciate that this game’s per-run progression is heavily altered from the typical Slay the Spire map feel that’s becoming a little too pervasive.
Completing a run unlocks more characters, granting rerolls and the ability to pick out a single captain you want to play the most, or you could do what I do, pick a number between 1-3 and reroll, choosing a higher difficulty.
The writing in these segments is humorous and sometimes surreal, which complements the quirky tone of the game’s art style and worldbuilding.
The UI is fairly simple, making for a nice and easy to learn experience- and an excellent Steam Deck game!
Really interesting wild west dusty vibe going on with the soundtrack.
The stunning graphics and intuitive user interface make exploration a real treat.
Theme by theme
Every theme is scored by what reviewers actually said about it, not just whether they recommended the game.
No recurring complaints surfaced in this sample.
Ranked by how many sampled reviews mention each topic. A topic sits in a column by what reviewers said about that topic; the percentage beside it is how many of them recommended the game anyway. 2 more themes were each raised by fewer than 6 sampled reviews and are not shown.
