What players think
The recurring themes across 300 analysed reviews: what players praise, what divides them, and what to know.
I like the art style, I know this is a mixed reaction, especially from fans of the originals.
The gameplay is quite nice if you're into point and click adventure games.
The music, the jokes, the puzzles, the voice acting, and especially the art are much better in Curse of Monkey Island -- and in the special editions of Secret of Monkey Island + Lechuck's Revenge.
I think it looks excellent and plays well both at 4K and on smaller Steam Deck-size screens.
Linux players, I can report that this game works pretty well on Linux, but you'll want to check the ProtonDB entry on Return to Monkey Island as there may be some tweaks required.
