Unboxing the Cryptic Killer was a surprisingly fun co-op experience, and given its low price, it's hard for me not to recommend it.
Released in 2023, it has quickly gained recognition for its innovative gameplay and engaging narrative that centers around two detectives trapped in a deadly game orchestrated by a cunning antagonist known as the Cryptic Killer.
Some players found it too easy, but I thought it offered a good, balanced difficulty overall.
There's a lot of variety to the mechanics and presentation of the puzzles, but almost all of them boil down to you uncovering a number you'll need for the main lock.
The subtle retro art style and minimalist sound effects seem to be exactly what allows my autistic brain to think and enjoy this masterpiece.
The art style complements the narrative’s dark themes and adds a layer of visual intrigue that enhances the overall mood.
