Between that is a great story of queer love and community overcoming oppression and mutual support breaking away from toxic support.
Within the game each section takes you to another uniquely designed big encounter, each with its own unique mechanics and patterns to learn and all with a killer sense of style and some of the best use of royalty free music I think I’ve ever seen.
I would definitely rate it as challenging overall, but if you have a hard time, there are a lot of options to adjust it to the exact difficulty level you prefer.
The combat system is pretty punishing and it revolves around trial-and-error, but the difficulty can be customized in many different ways (both easier and harder) up to a godmode.
The upbeat chiptune soundtrack is also very catchy and suits the game perfectly.
The thing however that allowed me to have fun with this, genuine mechanical fun in a genre that usually pushes me out is its amazing accessibility features.
