What players think
The recurring themes across 149 analysed reviews: what players praise, what divides them, and what to know.
Its strongest quality is how naturally its high-speed mechanics work alongside the oppressive atmosphere of deep-sea horror.
The style is also beautifully coherent between the screen transitions, the sound effects, the filters, the art style in general, the creature design and the way the story is paced as well.
Dodging attacks while maintaining a clear line of fire becomes an essential skill, and the freedom of movement makes combat feel more like aerial dogfighting transplanted into an alien ocean.
I love the enemy visual design and the controls are smooth and lovely and the sound effects are grand.
PSX-inspired graphics give environments and creatures a rough, distorted appearance that works especially well for horror.
