What players think
The recurring themes across 300 analysed reviews: what players praise, what divides them, and what to know.
I would really recommend this game to anyone of any age and level, because it's especially great for story-mode/campaigns and for multi-player mode (LAN, direction connection - can use a VPN - and local).
Has a great art style.
Despite being developed over a decade ago, the game's graphics and gameplay still hold up impressively well today.
This is a true chess game, not just an engine with graphics interface.
Chilling sound on the menus & overall sound effects are well done.
It's also playable on Linux with Steam on playonlinux.

Every theme is scored by what reviewers actually said about it, not just whether they recommended the game.
Ranked by how many sampled reviews mention each topic. A topic sits in a column by what reviewers said about that topic; the percentage beside it is how many of them recommended the game anyway.
