All in all, gameplay is superb, with replay value I have only begun to discover the depth of, 20+ hours in.
As a "tribute" to the GB-era SaGa series - AKA Final Fantasy Legend I, II, and III for those in the North America region - this game quickly not only matches, but surpasses, the mechanical and narrative elements of its source material.

Combat is fun, with a lot of options to keep it fresh.
The pixel art and sound design are both excellent; pretty faithful to the intended vibe but uses some effects that I think are a bit more modern to great effect.
