>>>>For a game thats over 19 years old theres a reason people still play it. i havent played the remaster and i dont plan to, its just too much money for a low performance game just to have high res textures (some of wich break game lore). meanwhile this runs great on my laptop. its an old game, certain things arent obvious, one important thing is that if your computer goes to sleep the game will softlock/crash so you have to save before walking away (you can use f5 to quicksave). if youve only played skyrim before, this is not as easy to pick up, but once you know what youtre doing the way your character progesses feels much more personal and meaningful beacuse the stats and skills are actually connected in the leveling up process, instead of all being untied. if youre having a hard time research power-leveling, or just turn the difficulty down until later in the game

The biggest downside of the game, and the one that happened to me unfortunately is the save data corruption issue which basically caused me to abandon my adventure in Cyrodill as the last stable save I had was made last year, and I would lose pretty much hundred of hours of gameplay, if not more.

Voice acting is mostly terrible (not you Patrick Stewart, I love you).

I found this to be better using mods to recreate what it's like playing on the Xbox360, It does not feel like a proper PC game from the beginning unlike morrowind (which also had a really good xbox port) so might as well just mod it a bit and play it on your TV instead with controller support.

Oblivion was one of the 1st games I got when I bought my Steam Deck and I played it for at least 3 years now.
