What players think
The recurring themes across 300 analysed reviews: what players praise, what divides them, and what to know.
The progression is great as you do achievements to get all sorts of rewards and even cool modifiers that can spice up the run and you get to "evolve" and unlock cool new game mechanics and minigames like in the first game.
I do like the weapons in this one and you can get OP, but I feel like it is way easier to do with the tennis racket or the rocket launcher than you can with the others.
I hosted 2 multiplayer games, one with just two of us and one with 4, and they both played fine (besides a stutter that happens even on single player).
Tons of replayability, a killer soundtrack, and co-op works seamlessly the vast majority of the time.
The visuals are upgraded and the pixel art is still peak though some character portraits do sometimes look uncanny.
Combine that with more complex weaponry and items as well as enemies and bosses and this game creates a perfect blend of difficulty, visual beauty, and skill that makes it so enjoyable and replayable, even if you aren't making significant progress.
