What players think
The recurring themes across 300 analysed reviews: what players praise, what divides them, and what to know.
But anyway, everything else is fine, gameplay, graphics sound, all the works.
The loot system is extensive, featuring a wide array of weapons, armor, and magical artifacts, many with randomized stats and special effects that encourage experimentation and optimization.
The graphics hold up surprisingly well after all this time. (try to get the elite texture pack online, Ascaron wants everyone to have it, they just went bankrupt before they could distribute it properly) The game isn't photorealistic or anything, but the art style and world is gorgeous anyway.
While Sacred 2 Gold may have its quirks – a slightly quirky translation here and there, and a combat system that is more deliberate than frantic – its ambition, its vast open world, and its deep character customization make it a truly unique and rewarding experience.
And it's big enough for 50+ hours for a single playthrough, and pretty much infinite replay value (7 actually unique classes, 5 difficulty levels total).
The soundtrack and sound design complement the fantasy setting, with sweeping orchestral scores and atmospheric effects that enhance both combat and exploration.
