What players think
The recurring themes across 300 analysed reviews: what players praise, what divides them, and what to know.
In short, the story is wonderful, honestly genuinely moving and it is a beautiful thing to do with friends and loved ones.
Lighting up your friends daily, leaving messages at Shrines (seriously who the hell touches those outside of the Daily mission that asks you to meditate and forces you to interact with them), leaving shared Memories or Shared Spaces (which both cost candles btw!)
I love the core gameplay, the world, and the community.
But as a multiplayer game that is free to play as well, it is unapologetically so held afloat by the immensely overpriced cosmetics that attempt to coerce you into spending your actual money, otherwise known as FOMO.
even after all these, even though i have it as not recommended, i still think it's worth experiencing. the flying, the player interactions, the small and interesting gameplay features, the exploration, the sound design, the storytelling, the atmosphere, the visuals. after you finish the 'main story' though, i just can't recommend the game anymore.
The daily cap for earning candles is 20, which if you like to play less hyper-optimized like me, you can earn with about 2 hours of playtime.
Theme by theme
Every theme is scored by what reviewers actually said about it, not just whether they recommended the game.
Ranked by how many sampled reviews mention each topic. A topic sits in a column by what reviewers said about that topic; the percentage beside it is how many of them recommended the game anyway.
The data behind the verdict
