What players think
The recurring themes across 300 analysed reviews: what players praise, what divides them, and what to know.
The soundtrack is mainly the general hospital/emergency theme tune the whole time, I had to turn it off after the first hour or two as it just grew very repetitive very fast, all of the sound effects in game of the grinding, sawing and squelching are all very nicely produced.
Its deliberately clunky controls and unpredictable physics create a distinct experience, setting it apart as a game that revels in its own difficulty and absurdity.
Sound design also plays a significant role, with the music ramping up in intensity as patients lose blood and the surgical situation becomes more frantic.
Visually, "Surgeon Simulator" has a simplistic, cartoonish art style that suits its comedic approach.
