Anomaly Agent is a compact cyberpunk action adventure that mixes side-scrolling beat-'em-up combat, platforming, firearms, unusual weapons, character progression, humorous dialogue, and a reality-bending storyline.
One thing that I enjoyed about the setup is the frequent checkpoints and health restoration.
The combat and platforming are nice, but the combat might feel a bit repetitive at some point.
While nothing amazing, it's a good soundtrack of 70’s-synth wave type of music.
The retro-pixel art style combined with the cyberpunk atmosphere is visually decent, and some scenes are even quite stylish in terms of aesthetics.
Upgrades provide meaningful improvements and some flexibility while keeping menu management relatively light.
