What the game nails down perfectly is exploration, one of the biggest draws of the metroidvania genre.
While there's a few bugs being worked out, the controls were tight, and I rather enjoyed the story.
There is one place where the graphics shine though, the last sector looks awesome with a horror vibe that feels pretty unique.
Ex Vitro is a love letter to Metroid that doesn’t quite have the budget of bigger titles but makes up for it with excellent level design and a lot of cool weapons.
