What players think
The recurring themes across 300 analysed reviews: what players praise, what divides them, and what to know.
Speaking of unforgiving mechanics, the game’s blend of realism and arcade-style lethality is a core part of its design.
While some players have voiced concerns about cheaters, it's worth noting that the line between a genuinely skilled player and an illegitimate one can be incredibly fine in a game with such lethal combat (Ai one-shot kills).
The most recent major updates for Gray Zone Warfare, including the Patch 0.3.5.0 which involved an Engine Upgrade to Unreal Engine 5.5, have brought substantial improvements to both graphics and optimization.
The main story missions are pretty good for the most part (minus the hunter's paradise one).
Sound design is very good especially regarding environmental sounds, and player/combat-related sounds are good, although some directional improvements would be beneficial.
