Story
Players who bring up Story mostly praise it.
178 of 300 sampled reviews raised it
I also appreciated that the game doesn't lean into jump scares and metafiction to create its horror; there are some intentionally creepy visuals and glitches, but the main focus is on the story.
Gameplay
Players who bring up Gameplay mostly praise it.
80 of 300 sampled reviews raised it
Using common computer mechanics like duplication, viewing hidden files, editing source code, viewing browser history, etc, all felt great, fun and rewarding.
Audio
Players who bring up Audio mostly praise it.
45 of 300 sampled reviews raised it
I loved both visual art and soundtrack, although just on some occasions, I felt music changed too frequently because it's tied to whatever program/folder you have open, and that made the mood change drastically with just a few clicks.
Difficulty
Players who bring up Difficulty mostly praise it.
32 of 300 sampled reviews raised it
PUZZLE DIFFICULTY: There were definitely a few things I would have totally missed if I hadn't been referencing a guide on my second play-through, and there were maybe 3-5 puzzles I had to look up on the initial play-through to get a hint, but otherwise I felt that all the puzzles were the perfect level of difficulty, ranging from simple [but NOT boring] to challenging [but NOT impossible]).
Graphics
Players who bring up Graphics mostly praise it.
23 of 300 sampled reviews raised it
The ambiance is great, the visuals are immersive, and the whole thing feels very cohesive despite each section featuring a new profile and their favored computer softwares.
Interface
Players who bring up Interface mostly praise it.
12 of 300 sampled reviews raised it
The retro-inspired interface feels authentic, capturing the look and feel of older computers while remaining easy to navigate.
