What players think
The recurring themes across 129 analysed reviews: what players praise, what divides them, and what to know.
Soundtrack and graphics are smooth but I cannot help but feel more frustration than enjoyment cuz either the weapons are too weak or the enemies are too resilient to shots (bar the Bosses, they're supposed to have strong endurance).
Legacy Mode preserves the original visual style and soundtrack, capturing the exact feel of the classic release with crisp responsiveness that honors its roots.
The gameplay loop is simple—shoot, dodge, collect power-ups—but the execution is tight enough that every mistake feels earned and every success satisfying.
This risk-reward structure encourages confident play while still punishing recklessness, keeping the difficulty curve engaging without becoming overwhelming.
Just as I remembered it, but modernized to support full screen and controlers (works great on Steam Deck with both Proton stable and experimental).
