What players think
The recurring themes across 300 analysed reviews: what players praise, what divides them, and what to know.
Voice acting; some of the voice acting was really good, and by some, I mean the lines of the opponents in the tournament, who had relatively few lines, but some of the other characters were a bit stiff; I'm partly wondering if there's a difficulty with lip-sync animations that they're trying to account for, it seems like the characters with full face helmets were given the best voice acting, but I don't know if that's coincidence or just the result of some characters needing to record a lot of filler lines for the demo.
i like the focus on the gameplay but the dialog kind of mess the experience for me: it's uninteresting, pretty much skipable, too long to be a filler.

- The choice to use the Unreal Engine always pays of, things like lighting already looks great;
Controls could be slightly unresponsive at times; when using an Xbox controller, I found that pressing start didn't always open the menu, sometimes it would, sometimes it wouldn't, sometimes it would, but it would take longer to do so than pressing Esc on the keyboard, it was a bit like petitioning the local lord to please permit me to view my inventory, sometimes it would grant that petition, other times, it would pretend not to receive that petition and laugh as I continuously pressed the start button, begging for the menu before giving an executive command via keyboard, I know it's the game, not the controller, because I use the controller for other games and do not have that issue, and it's not my computer, because the Esc key was reasonably reliable.
The reason i don't recomend the game (yet) is because the combat is poorly optimized lacking several features that are essential for this kind of game to succeed:

Theme by theme
Every theme is scored by what reviewers actually said about it, not just whether they recommended the game.
Ranked by how many sampled reviews mention each topic. A topic sits in a column by what reviewers said about that topic; the percentage beside it is how many of them recommended the game anyway.
