What players think
The recurring themes across 300 analysed reviews: what players praise, what divides them, and what to know.
The game constantly encourages experimentation, whether through skill combinations or equipment choices, making progression feel dynamic rather than linear.
The character development is natural and authentic, as the characters meet a fourth party member who was at first disliked; yet, as the characters mature through the storyline they grow to respect one another and develop a palpable camaraderie.
The combat still has some smaller flaws, but also certainly is an improvement, though turn based RPGs might still not be something everyone enjoys.
There is also plently more optional content that is actually quite enjoyable, with the difficulty in general also being quite balanced.
The game captivated me from the very beginning with its charming pixel art style and humorous storyline.
The soundtrack in Epic Battle Fantasy 4 was fantastic and perfectly complemented the gameplay.
