Yes, there have been incredible racing games across the last 15+ years from all levels of budget, but one that pairs excellent gameplay with a compelling story on top of it, that tries to immerse you into a world and give you characters to care about, to hate, to go through a journey with, it just doesn't happen with racing, BUT THEY TRIED IT HERE AND NAILED IT.
Gameplay
Players who bring up Gameplay mostly praise it.

The gameplay is stellar, it's a fantastic twin-stick controll scheme with every character having their own unique abilities varying up the default playstyle just enough.
Audio

Sound design is impeccable, the soundtrack is an original composed score that pulls out all of the themes and emotions of the characters beautifully.

Also looks great on my laptop with integrated graphics and runs fine.
Characters

Characters like Noboru and The Announcer perform drastically better than the majority of the roster.
Co-op
Players who bring up Co-op mostly praise it.
27 of 300 sampled reviews raised it
The game offers surprising depth, with interactive mechanics and a generous mix of online and offline modes, including split-screen in the year 2026, which was honestly crazy to see lol.
