Physics becomes better, vehicles receive complete remasters, maps are expanded, graphics improve, audio becomes more realistic, AI gets smarter, and entirely new gameplay systems are introduced.
Gamemodes/Progression: There is a few different ways to play a career mode a bunch of standalone scenarios and a new ish rally mode along with some outdated campaigns.
The optimization has also improved significantly over time.

The gameplay is great, mods make it even better, and the controls feel good for controller, keyboard and mouse, and of course wheel and pedals.
It feels less like selecting cars from a menu and more like working in a digital workshop.
