Give Gradius a try if you want to have a blast with an epic(in all the sense of the word) soundtrack, addictive gameplay, somewhat iffy hitboses and most importantly, SHOOTing THE CORE!
Each game loops into a harder version of itself after a clear and provides nigh-infinite replayability as you learn to get better, achieve higher scores, or even knock out a 1cc with enough practise.

Theme by theme
Every theme is scored by what reviewers actually said about it, not just whether they recommended the game.
Ranked by how many sampled reviews mention each topic. A topic sits in a column by what reviewers said about that topic; the percentage beside it is how many of them recommended the game anyway.
