Unlike many challenging platformers that punish mistakes by forcing players to replay lengthy sections, Curiosity introduces a practical checkpoint system through placeable beds.
Professional voice acting helps strengthen key story moments, making the emotional beats feel more genuine without overwhelming the gameplay.
The voice lines form the cats, both on the way up and those who were hidden, made me smile a lot and the story had heart (the sad ending and the lines at the grave on the path up from the graveyard both hit me).
The difficulty starts off extremely easy and the game does a great job of building on what you learned in the tutorial as you progress through the first area.
There are some occasional performance hiccups, but it runs pretty well on Steam Deck.
