I've always liked reading and writing, but always struggled to carry on the drafts of my own fiction.
The lighting unites the two by allowing for very dark scenes, strong color changes, and mood/vibe shifts that are very powerful.
if you're familiar with many other games that see themselves more like art than a game you might be familiar with intentionally boring or poor gameplay in order to say something or invoke a feeling, and i want to make it clear this game is NOT like that. the gameplay is basic for sure, but it's never ever frustrating or tedious, and it's rare to get stuck anywhere. you may see some short playtimes in this review section, that's because the game is pretty short, but it fills that shortness with so much. it doesn't waste your time at all, it values your time, every bit of it is narrative heavy, pure story.
The audio design is also pretty good in my mind.
