Definitely still early in development but already with a solid gameplay foundation.
some extra visual options, maybe a colour filter or high contrast mode, that changes the art style strongly, this can look really cool with pixel graphics.
Still once you are not looking to deliberately abused the system each mission gives a nice balance of fun and difficulty.
Sound design complements this approach, with heavy mechanical impacts, weapon discharges, and enemy audio cues reinforcing the intensity of combat without overwhelming situational awareness.
I do think it would be even better with a co-op mode, even if it was just hot seat, and having randomly generated maps would add more replay value.
