Also, I was positively surprised about Maxim's role in the story/gameplay: while his demon lord abilities that he grants the sisters and the relic equipping are basically special moves and an equipment screen with a fancy coat of paint, they made him feel like a part of the team and more than a floating head which I had originally expected.
It's really hard to figure out how freezing weapons work, and that unlocks a lot of areas...
I was quite caught in the narrative and the humour, even if they remained simple.
Unlike the first game, I do recommend this as a coop experience.
Here we have a solid Metroidvania that's multiplayer (which is rare) and online (which is even rarer).
The screenshots/videos speak for themselves as far as the visuals go: the environments look good and playable characters and bosses are animated well.
