The recurring themes across 74 analysed reviews: what players praise, what divides them, and what to know.
I've changed this review to positive, because I like the plot, but playing it may be painful.
The first one (The Land of Pain) was very nice, despite its 2017 graphics, which have aged well and remain pleasant and cohesive today.
The gameplay felt smooth, the sound design was immersive, and the staging, somewhere between soft horror and intense thriller, was well-crafted.
Also the voice acting was pretty good and I liked the characters.
That said, with an RX 6600 at 1080p on a 180 Hz display, I need to run Cosmic Fear at Medium settings with Balanced TSR to get a comfortable frame rate of around 45–65 FPS, sometimes reaching 70–80 FPS, and there is no FSR Frame Generation.
The performance could still be improved, but I had no problems with bugs or glitches.
