What players think
The recurring themes across 180 analysed reviews: what players praise, what divides them, and what to know.
Some boss fights or sequences made you think of the mechanics in a different way that legitimately made me smile.
The game is never cheap, some people complain about the controls but I never had that issue myself, when you die, it is because YOU made a mistake either in your jumps or in your combat manoeuvres, you can truly feel Zelda II's battle mechanics shine through, basic pattern recognition, patience and skill are required to fight your way through hordes of enemies, it is never luck based or cheap.
On a positive note the visuals, soundtrack and movement physics are pretty good.
In a final note I'd like to say that the soundtrack is absolutely perfect and completements the story to perfection, the main hubworld's theme will never leave you again, it is just THAT good, it is soothing and bone chilling at the same time.
I was awestruck by the world, and excited for FT2 because of the secret ending.
