What players think
The recurring themes across 300 analysed reviews: what players praise, what divides them, and what to know.
Expanded environments, additional road configurations, improved scenery, more detailed graphics, traffic options, achievements, vehicle customization, refined physics, combustion engines, manual transmissions, controller improvements, profiles, and numerous configurable settings give it greater depth.
Developed and published by Topograph Interactive, it is deliberately designed as a relaxing driving sandbox where exploration and atmosphere matter considerably more than competition.
Its relatively lightweight concept and ability to accommodate short sessions nevertheless make the Steam Deck an attractive way to experience an endless drive whenever a relaxed game is preferable to something more demanding.
Even with my device having a trash iGPU (amazing, I know) the game is well optimised enough to enjoy the full experience without really giving much of a care for framerate.
It lets you play eurobeat at max volume from a custom playlist while drifting on snowy roads, it lets you play the minecraft soundtrack while cruising along with traffic, it lets you drive a bike on the moon, on Mars, or whatever your heart wants to do.
It's almost like the car equivalent of linux (side note: perfectly playable on linux), complete control of what I want to do, not what the devs and higher ups think is good for me.
